How to start a Youtube channel in 2020?

Want to start a Youtube channel in 2020, but don’t know how to? Today, I show you how to create a Youtube channel from scratch in 2020 step-by-step.

1. Create a Gmail Account

First, you need to create a Gmail account. However, if you already have a Gmail account you can use that one. My recommendation is to use a professional Gmail account. For example:

  • contact+your name@gmail.com
  • business+yourname@gmail.com
  • yourname@gmail.com

A Youtube channel is like a business and having an email account that is professional tells brands that you take Youtube seriously. It makes you trustworthy.

2. Create a Youtube Account

The second step is to create a Youtube account. All you need to do is go to Youtube >> click on your name icon >> create a Youtube channel.

I tell you more in detail about this on my second Youtube channel. For a more detailed tutorial watch it.

3. Choose a Youtube Name

Now, it’s time to choose a Youtube Name. If you are having trouble finding a name for your channel, you can always use your name. You can change it later. If not you can google “name generator” and a few websites will appear. They generate names for your brand, blog, etc.

4. Customize your Channel

Now it’s time to add:

  • Social links
  • Description
  • Profile picture to your Youtube channel

5. Add Channel Art

The fifth step to start a Youtube channel in 2020 is to add a channel art. I’ll show you in another video how to do so, so stay tuned for that. Subscribe and activate the notification bell to be notified when I upload this video :).

6. Channel Keywords

Adding channel keywords makes it easier for other people to find your channel. Some examples can be lifestyle, cooking, vlog, traveling.

7. Watermark

Adding a watermark on your Youtube channel helps your viewers to subscribe easily. It is basically a shortcut 🙂

8. Default Video Description

You can add a default video description. What this means is that you won’t have to write every time your social links, and affiliate links in the description box.
