Top 10 Equipment For Youtube That You Need To Have

Top 10 equipment for Youtube that you need to have.

Are you wondering what is the best equipment for Youtube in 2020? These are my Top 10 Equipment for Youtube Beginners on a budget. I will start talking about the best camera. Then, I will be going more into detail about my game changer accessories. All of the information that I share with you today is based on my experience. As well as the equipment that has best worked for me as a beginner Youtuber. Remember, buying gear for your Youtube videos is a long time INVESTMENT.

At the end of this post, you will find a Youtube video where I go more into detail about each product

1. Camera

Buying a camera can be really overwhelming. There is a huge variety of cameras in the market, going from hundreds of dollars to thousands. While I was doing my research, I found that the Canon G7x mii was the best camera for me. And here is why :

  • Flip screen: this allows me to see if my camera is recording. Also if I am in the frame.
  • Touch screen: you have 2 options, either click on the button to record or take a photo or touch the screen.
  • Small camera size: it fits into my handbag or backpack.
  • Lightweight: it is not a heavy camera which is practical to I travel.
  • Video quality: the light balance is amazing, it focuses pretty fast on objects and people, shots are not blurry.
  • Sound quality: the camera microphone allows your videos to have good quality audio. No need for a microphone if your budget does not allow you to invest in one.

2. Tripod

Having a tripod is one of the best investments I have made. Mostly, because you can place your camera anywhere you want and it will not fall or shake. If you buy a large tripod, you will be able to adjust the length as you wish. However, mini tripods can do the work too. Plus, they are practical to bring with you.

3. Ring Light

Having good light in your video is very important. That will be an indicator for your Youtube audience to either keep watching your video or move on to the next one. If your video has a bad light quality, it will make it really hard for your audience to see your face and read or see what you are showing on your screen.

To avoid this, I recommend you to buy a ring light. There are cheap ones in the market for around $30.

I could not find the ring light that I have so here are some good alternatives:

4. Extra Battery

The fourth piece of equipment on the list is an extra battery. The reason why it is important to have one is that sometimes when it comes to recording a video, it might take a while. And if your battery runs out, waiting for it to get fully charged might take too long. It is not practical!

5. Camera Memory Card

This is a must! To use your camera, you NEED a memory card. Otherwise, you will not be able to use it. Here are the two memory cards that I have:

6. Camera Bag

A camera bag will protect your device from any scratch. Also, it will make it easier to carry it with you on your trips.

7. External Hard Drive

Having a back-up of all of your videos and thumbnails is really important. That is why you should have an external hard drive. Not only you because you can save all of your footage there and have a backup of your files, but also release some space from your computer (this might make your computer faster).

8. Glass Screen Protector

Ever since my older phone fell and the screen broke up, I decided to buy a screen protector for my camera, because it is better to be safe. It comes with 2 wipes, a dust remover, and 3 screen protectors.

9. Headphones

I recently purchased my first headphones, after my earphones stopped working. To replace them, I decided to buy the Sony MDR-XB550AP. Mostly because of the sound quality, lightweight and affordable price. The ones that I have are olive color, definitely one of the most beautiful headphones I have ever seen on the market.

10. Computer

Last but not least, investing in a good computer is a must. Even though you can still edit on your smartphone, having a computer will make your editing process way easier, practical, and will make your fingers happy :D.

I have a MacBook air 13″, which is pretty lightweight and practical to travel with.
