Learn how to remove the background on any image in Affinity Designer with this step-by-step tutorial. Whether if it is to create a social media image, for a Youtube thumbnail or a Pinterest cover photo, or any graphic. This tool is will be a life-saver.
1. Import your photos
There are two different ways to do so. You either use :
- The place image tool
- Drag the image
In this video, I show you how to do so.
2. Select the “pen tool”
3. Create an outline of your photo
This will take a while. You must end your outline where you started.
4. Use the “move tool“
5. Select the image
Select the image, not the outline.
6. Convert image to “curves”
In order to convert your image to “curves”, do a right-click. Then, you will see the option appear on your screen.
7. Click outside of the image
8. Select the outline
9. Move to the back
Move the outline to the back by doing a right-click. Next, select the option “arrange”. Finally, select the “move to back’ option.
10. Select everything
Select everything by typing ctrl+a if you are on Microsoft or cmd+a if you have a MacBook.
11. Divide the image
12. Remove the background
Select the move tool to remove the background.
