Did you know that as a student you can get Canva Pro for free? In this post, I show you step-by-step one way in which you can get this offer.
Unfortunately, Canva Pro is no longer available on Github’s Student Developer Pack. However, you can get a 2-month free trial as a student on UNiDAYS.
One of the perks of being a student is all of the “student discounts” or free offers we have access to. Recently, I learned that students can get free access to Canva Pro for free, which will save you $119. One way to get Canva Pro is by getting the Github’s Student Developer Pack.
Github is a hosting service, “the largest and most advanced development platform in the world”, as they describe on their website. If you’re interested in learning about how to code, their pack offers great developer tools for you to learn.

1. Search for “Github student developer pack”
First, search for “Github student developer pack” on the internet. Next, click on the link that appears in the photo below (https://education.github.com/pack). In my case, it is the first one that appears on Google search.
2. Get your pack
This link will lead you to the website that appears below. The Github Student Developer Pack includes amazing tools that you will love! For example, you can get a free domain for a year to start your business. Scroll down to learn more about all the offers. Once you’re done, click on “Get your pack”.
3. Get student benefits
You will be directed to this website. On the left, you will see a white square where you can get both student or teacher benefits. Next, click on “Get student benefits”. This is what you’re pack will include:
- Free access to Github Pro
- Github Student Developer Pack
- Github Campus Expert training.
4. Create a Github account
Create a Github account using your student email provided by your school. This is to verify that you are a student.
5. Get access by connecting Github account on Canva
Once you’ve created your account, log in to your Github account. After, click on “Get access by connecting Github account on Canva”. Congratulations, you’re one step closer to getting Canva Pro!
6. Claim offer
It is time to claim your offer! After clicking on the previous link, you should be directed to the website shown in the photo. Then, sign up or login into your Canva account. And now you should have access to Canva Pro.
To verify that it worked go to “settings” > “Billing & Teams”. And in the subscription section, it should say “Canva Pro”.
Note: you don’t need to enter your credit card details at any point.
